Syria’s state-owned SANA news agency reports that Syrian authorities have thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons and ammunition from Syria’s Tartous into Lebanon.

Syrian authorities seized automatic weapons, rocket-propelled grenade rounds and various types of ammunition as part of the operation, SANA cited Syria’s internal security force as saying.
