On March 28, 2026, they resumed their attacks against the Israelis, which were paused following the 2025 Gaza war ceasefire, and joined the 2026 Iran war by launching ballistic missiles against the Israelis. The Houthis stated that they had launched ballistic missiles targeting "sensitive" Israeli military sites, and vowed to continue the attacks "until the aggression on all resistance fronts stops."
On July 13, 2026, its opponent, the internationally recognized government has been reported as having bombed the landing strip of Sanaa International Airport to prevent a delegation from returning from Khamenei's funeral. In response, the Houthis targeted an airport in Saudi Arabia accusing Ryadh of being behind the bombardment.
