Israeli forces demolish road crossings in southern Lebanon
Israeli forces have carried out pre-dawn demolition operations on road crossings linking several towns in southern Lebanon’s Haddatha, Tayri, and Qounine areas, the state-run National News Agency reports.
The agency said the military also fired machine-gun rounds at the outskirts of the nearby town of Majdel Zoun on Friday morning.

Lebanon health ministry says Israeli strike wounded two paramedics
Lebanon’s health ministry has condemned a direct Israeli strike on an ambulance in the southern town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa that wounded two paramedics and damaged the vehicle, according to the state-run National News Agency.
In a statement carried by the agency, the ministry said the targeted vehicle belonged to the Civil Defense – Islamic Health Authority. Denouncing the attack as part of a “systematic targeting” of healthcare workers and a “blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws,” the ministry called on the international community and UN bodies to intervene and put an end to repeated strikes.

Returning residents of south Lebanese villages unlikely to stay due to destruction, lack of basic services
Residents of Zawtar al-Gharbiya have been waiting for permission from the Lebanese army to return to their homes since Tuesday, when the Israeli army withdrew from the town.
However, it’s been very difficult because what we understand from army officers here is that they’re continuing with sweeping operations – roads are blocked with rubble and a lot of the town has been destroyed so they can’t just allow people to drive inside.
They’re currently allowing five vehicles at a time to enter, for people to visit their homes and see if they’re still standing.
A local official who managed to enter the village this morning said the destruction he saw was “unbelievable” and “unprecedented”.
So, we don’t know how many homes are still standing. A lot of them were destroyed in Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling, but a lot of them were also deliberately detonated and demolished. The Israeli army has been doing this across southern Lebanon.
Returning families have the option of staying here, but few will be able to simply because there’s no water, electricity, basic services or even a phone connection.
A lot of people are also concerned from a security standpoint, because the Israeli army is stationed only a few hundred meters away.

Lebanese President Aoun briefs PM on US talks, stresses Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has met with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to brief him on his recent visit to Washington, where US officials expressed support for the Lebanese army and a commitment to implementing a framework agreement that would require a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory down to the southern border, the presidency said in a statement.
Aoun met with President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other US officials during the visit to Washington, who also pledged assistance to Lebanon across multiple sectors, the statement said.
The Lebanese presidency quoted Aoun as stressing the necessity of completing Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese villages and towns up to the southern border, in line with what it described as a framework formula agreed upon in Washington.
For his part, Salam briefed Aoun on his own visit to southern Lebanon, specifically to the western town of Zoutar, following Israel’s withdrawal from the area. “I affirmed that we are with our people in the south and by their side, and that the state is determined to secure their needs, in a way that consolidates their presence on their land and preserves their livelihoods,” Salam was quoted as saying.

French President receives influential Lebanese politician at Elysee Palace
French President Emmanuel Macron has met with the former leader of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Joumblatt at the Elysee Palace.
The Media Commission of the Progressive Socialist Party said Macron and Jumblatt discussed “the latest developments on the Lebanese and regional scenes.”
