Israeli forces killed at least 11 people in Gaza on Saturday

Palestinian health officials say Israel’s attacks on Gaza have killed 11 people across the territory on Saturday, including a family of five.

The family – three children and their parents – were killed when an Israeli strike hit a residential apartment in northwest Gaza City, according to the territory’s civil defence agency.

“The family’s only surviving member is one child, who was not inside the house at the time of the strike,” Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the agency, told the AFP news agency.

Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital confirmed it had received the five bodies.

At least 1,150 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the US-brokered “ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas took effect last October, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Israeli forces kill Palestinian woman in overnight attack on tent in Gaza City

There have been several Israeli attacks on Gaza overnight, according to our colleagues on the ground. These include:

• An Israeli air strike that hit a tent in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, killing a woman and wounding her husband
• A strike on an apartment in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City at 3am (00:00 GMT) that wounded several people, including children
• A gun attack in Khan Younis in the south that wounded another Palestinian
• Two drone attacks on a residential area in central Gaza’s Bureij refugee camp that did not cause any casualties

The attacks took place despite Israel and Hamas agreeing to a “ceasefire” in October. More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed in near-daily Israeli attacks since then. Four Israeli soldiers have also been killed.

Israel declares area around Gaza a ‘closed military zone’

The Israeli military has declared the region around the Gaza Strip a “closed military area” in effect from 8am (05:00 GMT) today to 8am on Monday.

The Times of Israel reported that the decision comes ahead of a large march to the area by the right-wing Nahala colonist group, which supports the re-establishment of Israeli colonys inside the enclave.

The outlet said the closed area “covers the entire Gaza periphery, from Yad Mordechai in the north of the enclave to Route 232 in the east, all the way to Kerem Shalom at its extreme south”.

It also cited a military source as saying that the closure was ordered due to the colonist group’s “intention of entering the Gaza Strip illegally”.

Palestinian killed in Israeli strike on tent in Khan Younis

At least one Palestinian has been killed and 10 wounded by an Israeli air strike that hit tents sheltering displaced people in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, Wafa news agency reports.

The attack comes despite Israel and Hamas agreeing to a “ceasefire” in October. More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed in near-daily Israeli attacks since then, while four Israeli soldiers have also been killed.

Happened in the occupied West Bank

Wafa news agency reports:

• An elderly Palestinian man has been wounded and several others sustained minor injuries in an attack by Israeli colonists in Surif, northwest of Hebron.
• Israeli forces detained three Palestinians during a military raid on the village of Imatin, east of Qalqilya.
• Sixteen released Palestinian prisoners have been brought to al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah for medical examinations.
• Israeli colonists grazed sheep on Palestinian agricultural land in al-Maniya, southeast of Bethlehem, damaging crops.
• Israeli colonists also attacked the villages of Deir Ibzi and Ein Arik, west of Ramallah, under the protection of Israeli forces.

Israel has committed 3,795 violations of ‘ceasefire’ agreement

Ismail al-Thawabta, director general of the Government Media Office in Gaza, says Israel has committed 3,795 violations of the “ceasefire” agreement since it came into force in October.

Al-Thawabta said 1,168 Palestinians have been killed, 3,734 wounded and 149 detained as a result of what he described as Israeli “violations and ongoing abuses”.

He also said Israel had been severely restricting the delivery of humanitarian aid, stating that only 59,613 of the 168,000 aid trucks expected under the agreement had entered Gaza so far, amounting to a compliance rate of about 35 percent.

Israeli forces issue stop-work orders for Palestinian structures near Jenin

Wafa news agency reports that Israeli forces have issued stop-work and construction orders targeting Palestinian-owned structures in the eastern area of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, near the Kadim colony.

The orders were delivered to a number of Palestinian residents and targeted homes and other properties in the area.

The agency said the move was part of what it described as an escalation of Israeli measures against Palestinians living near the colony, aimed at restricting Palestinian urban expansion.

Wafa added that Israeli authorities routinely issue stop-work and demolition orders against Palestinian structures across the occupied West Bank, particularly in Area C, citing the lack of Israeli-issued building permits.

Several people wounded in Israeli artillery strike on Gaza City

Several Palestinians have been wounded in Israeli artillery shelling that targeted the Zeytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, Wafa news agency reported.

Ambulance and emergency services confirmed casualties after Israeli artillery struck on Sunday evening.

Local sources told Wafa that an artillery shell hit a home belonging to the Khuwaiter family near Salah al-Din Mosque east of Gaza City causing injuries.

Two Palestinians die from colonist attack wounds near Ramallah

Two Palestinians have died of their wounds sustained in an attack by Israeli colonists on the town of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Three Palestinians were initially wounded in the attack, with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society saying its crews treated a serious abdominal injury caused by the colonist assault.

Local sources told Wafa that Israeli forces fired at an ambulance transporting one of the wounded to hospital.

The incident is the latest in a surge of colonist violence across Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate with attacks including beatings, live fire, property arson and damage to agricultural land often carried out under the protection of Israeli forces.
