Israel releases 24 Palestinian detainees from Gaza

The International Committee of the Red Cross says it has facilitated the transfer of 24 Palestinian detainees to Gaza following their release from Israeli prisons.

It said the detainees were transported from the Karem Abu Salem crossing to the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, where they underwent medical examinations.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Office said the detainees came from cities and refugee camps across Gaza and included several elderly people.

It said the release brings to 636 the number of detainees who have returned to Gaza under the Hamas-Israel “ceasefire” agreement.

Canada’s Carney expresses support for ICC amid US pressure on court

Prime Minister Mark Carney has reaffirmed Canada’s support for the International Criminal Court (ICC), saying Ottawa would continue backing the institution despite US efforts to pressure allies to withdraw their membership and funding.

“Canada is a proud member of the International Criminal Court. We support it with funding. We support it with personnel. We support it with our values. We support it with our actions, and we will continue to do so,” he said.

Carney said the ICC played an increasingly important role as global instability increased.

The Trump administration has repeatedly criticised the ICC, particularly after the court issued arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, over allegations related to the genocidal war on Gaza.

The US is not a party to the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the ICC.

Former ICC prosecutor Karim Khan, who issued the arrest warrant for Netanyahu over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza in 2024, was recently dismissed over misconduct allegations.

In August 2025, the US sanctioned Canadian ICC judge Kimberly Prost over a case related to American troops in Afghanistan. Prost was one of four ICC officials targeted by the sanctions.

Death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza

One person has been killed and five others injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

At least 1,254 Palestinians have been killed and 4,121 injured in Israeli attacks since the October 2025 “ceasefire”, the ministry said.

That brings the death toll from the genocide to 73,382 since October 2023, with 174,236 injured.

Turkish FM says Israel does not want peace in Palestine

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says Turkiye sees that “Netanyahu’s government has intensified its acts of terror in the West Bank and Jerusalem”.

He made the remarks during a joint news conference in the Turkish capital, Ankara, with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.

“Israel’s continued attacks, despite the deal on the Gaza peace plan, once again show that Israeli Premier Netanyahu does not want peace,” he said regarding the recent attacks on the Strip.

Multiple countries condemn Israel’s violations in Gaza following Amman gathering

Following a meeting in Amman, the foreign ministers of Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt have condemned Israel’s escalatory attacks in Gaza.

In a joint statement, they said the targeting of civilians and health infrastructure in the Strip was a “grave breach of international law”.

They also said Israel’s intensifying attacks on the Strip served to undermine recent efforts by Trump’s Board of Peace to conclude a peace deal.

The statement followed a meeting in the Jordanian capital focused on protecting holy sites in Jerusalem.

Hamas calls on US, mediators to prevent Israel from ‘sabotaging’ Gaza agreement

Hamas has welcomed the joint statement from several countries following a meeting of foreign ministers in Amman, in which they condemned Israel’s escalation in Gaza, saying it “underscores the gravity of the escalation and violations perpetrated by the occupying government, which threaten the future of the entire agreement”.

As we reported earlier, the foreign ministers of Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt condemned Israel’s rising attacks in Gaza.

Hamas called upon the signatories – as well as mediators and Washington – to prevent Israel “from sabotaging the agreement through continued killing, aggression and reneging on the obligations imposed by the ceasefire agreement”.

Hamas and other Palestinian factions agreed last month to a document setting out a plan for their disarmament in Gaza, which tied the process to the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces.

UNICEF says one child killed per day in Gaza since ‘ceasefire’

At least 300 children have been reported killed in Gaza in the 300 days since the October 2025 “ceasefire”, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said.

That would mean one child killed per day.

The current situation is “failing children,” UNICEF Middle East and North Africa director Edouard Beigbeder said in a statement.

Children across the Gaza Strip continue to shelter in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, and are at the same time facing acute malnutrition and diseases, the statement added.

Israeli forces raid West Bank camp as colonists assault Palestinians

Israeli forces and colonists continued a campaign of raids, arrests and home demolitions across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to the Wafa news agency.

• Israeli forces detained 12 Palestinians across several West Bank governorates, including a woman in Qalandiya camp, a man in Silwan, a young person in Kafr Aqab, and nine young men across villages in the Jenin governorate.
• Israeli troops stormed the Qalandiya camp with heavy military equipment, raiding homes and the Popular Committee office. Additional raids were reported in al-Khader, Husan, Kafr Malek, and Deir Jarir.
• Israeli authorities demolished three homes in Nahhalin and al-Maniya near Bethlehem, as well as a home in Al-Bi’ina in the Galilee. They issued demolition notices in Jaba and seized three homes in Ramallah’s Satah Marhaba neighbourhood for military use.
• Israeli colonists attacked Khirbet Tuba in Masafer Yatta, leaving several residents injured and shelters burned. Colonists also fenced off land in the Jordan Valley, tampered with water infrastructure in Nablus, and spray-painted racist slogans in Tulkarem.

Israeli forces launch major raid in Qalandiya amid election season

The Israeli army says it’s conducting a major operation here that could go on for days in order to root out so-called “terrorist” infrastructure. Qalandiya is a key artery, connecting Ramallah and the northern occupied West Bank to occupied East Jerusalem and cities further south.

We haven’t been allowed into the camp, but residents tell us their homes have been raided, with property damaged and people interrogated in makeshift interrogation centres soldiers have set up inside houses. Paramedics say they’ve treated several injuries, including at least two people severely beaten by Israeli soldiers.

The larger picture here is political. This is election season. The Israeli minister of defence has said he wants his forces to occupy refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, just as they did in Jenin and Tulkarem. Those operations destroyed those refugee camps and forcibly displaced more than 30,000 people, who haven’t been allowed back.

That is the fear in Qalandiya and other refugee camps. Palestinian officials are also accusing Israel’s right-wing government of using Palestinian lives for election propaganda, noting that right-wing media are cheering the raid on.

They want to see more demolitions. They want to see the takeover of the UNRWA (the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees) training vocational centre here at Qalandiya, which serves hundreds, because they consider this a win for the government, a win against Palestinian presence in or near occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli forces assault 10 Palestinians near Jerusalem

The Palestinian Red Crescent says Israeli forces beat and injured 10 people in the Qalandiya refugee camp north of Jerusalem.

The organization said that Israeli forces prevented its teams from entering the camp at dawn and ordered them to leave.

Meanwhile, our colleagues on the ground said that Israeli forces are raiding homes and destroying their contents, forcing several families to evacuate as the military operation in Qalandiya continues.

Casualties as Israel’s raid on Qalandiya camp continues for a second day

The Palestinian Information Center is reporting that three people have sustained serious injuries while more than 60 have suffered from tear gas inhalation, as Israeli forces continue to storm the camp for a second consecutive day.

The Palestinian outlet cited the head of the Popular Committee in Qalandiya camp.

The official added that the ongoing military operation has involved the destruction of homes, the theft of money and gold jewelry, and the conversion of eight residential properties into military barracks.

Second day of raids on Qalandiya camp as Israeli intimidation continues

Israeli forces are still surrounding the refugee camp.

What’s changed from yesterday is that they are blocking a road on the outskirts of the refugee camp. This area is known as Kafr Aqab, and it sits on a main street linking Ramallah to Jerusalem. At the end of this road, there is an Israeli military checkpoint that allows people who have a Jerusalem ID to be able to get into Jerusalem. This road is also used by Palestinians who want to get into the rest of the occupied West Bank.

Now, cars here are taking a detour trying to find any bypass, any road, to be able to move, but that’s highly unlikely because the Israeli forces are in different areas inside the refugee camp. They continue to intimidate people; they continue to disrupt lives. They are going from one house to another in what we believe is an intelligence gathering process. The Israeli forces say they are cracking down on Palestinian “terrorism”.

An Israeli female officer is firing what seems to be a stun grenade against Palestinians who were just doing nothing… That might have been a bullet; I’m not sure. She continues to fire into an empty area. It might be tear gas; I think they are trying to push people away from this area.

As we always say, Israeli forces try to disrupt lives, try to intimidate people to remind them who has control over every aspect: The roads they go through and how their day will shape up.

We’ve heard the Israeli forces calling for curfews in certain areas around this refugee camp. The camp has a population of about 16,000 Palestinians, and they will tell you they are being used as ammunition and as part of the Israeli electoral campaign that is set to start.

Israeli forces arrest 60 Palestinians in Qalandiya amid ongoing refugee camp raids

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society has said Israeli forces arrested 60 Palestinians in Qalandiya today, the second day of their ongoing assault on the refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. Those arrested and interrogated included women and children.

The society’s statement added that the ongoing raids included severe beatings, intimidation, and the use of restraint as a means of torture.

Israeli forces have evicted people from their homes, destroying properties and belongings.

At least 16 Palestinians have been wounded after being assaulted by the Israeli military during the raids on the camp over the past two days, Palestine’s Red Crescent Society reported.

Israeli army says Palestinians injured in arson incident in Hebron

A military update says Israeli forces went to the village of Khirbet Tuba in Hebron in the southern West Bank last night following an arson attack on houses and attacks on Palestinians in the area by Israeli civilians.

“Several Palestinians were injured, including a girl and a woman. Several buildings were also burned,” the statement said.

“Upon their arrival, the forces searched the area, identifying burned buildings, graffiti and destroyed property. The suspects fled before [the forces] arrived.”

Happened in the occupied West Bank

• Qalandiya – A major Israeli troop build-up in the Qalandiya refugee camp continued for a second day. At least 16 people have been injured in the raids, and some 60 others have been detained. Israeli forces reportedly demolished shops, closed off a major road and stopped-and-searched vehicles. They’ve also imposed a curfew.
• Qalqilya – Israeli forces also raided homes in the city of Qalqilya, as well as in the villages of Azzun Atma and Beit Amin to its south, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
• Northern Jordan Valley – Israeli settlers continued fencing off areas in the Hammamat al-Malih area for a second day, preventing Palestinians from accessing their lands, according to Wafa.
• Nablus – Israeli forces are currently raiding the Askar refugee camp, in eastern Nablus, Wafa reports.

Israeli soldiers storm homes and detain Palestinians in West Bank raids

Israeli forces are carrying out military raids for a second day in several villages in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli soldiers are in the Qalandiya refugee camp again, going house to house and destroying property, and the Palestine Red Crescent says at least 11 people have been wounded in today’s operations.

Israeli colonist charged over Palestinian activist’s killing

Israeli prosecutors have charged a colonist with “reckless manslaughter” in the killing of prominent Palestinian activist Awdah al-Hathaleen.

Such legal actions against colonists are rare. Authorities named the accused as Yinon Levi.

Israeli rights group B’Tselem said the charges against Levi mark the first time since October 7, 2023 that an Israeli has been indicted for the death of a Palestinian in the occupied West Bank. In that time, the group said, colonists and soldiers have killed at least 1,100 Palestinians in the territory.

Hathaleen, who advocated against colonist violence, was involved in the 2025 Oscar-winning film, No Other Land.

He was killed in July 2025 after a raiding colonist opened fire in his village of Umm al Khair, Masafer Yatta, in the West Bank. The activist, who was standing a few meters (feet) from the attacker, was also filming and appeared to capture the shooting.

Israeli army shoots, wounds Palestinian child in Jenin raid

An Israeli raid on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin has wounded one Palestinian child and one man, Wafa reports.

The Red Crescent Society said it transported a 14-year-old boy to the hospital after Israeli forces shot him in the lower back. They also transported another Palestinian man who was assaulted.

Israeli forces had earlier closed off a roundabout, detained a group of young Palestinian men and raided multiple shops in the city.

The army has also been carrying out a large-scale operation at the Qalandiya refugee camp for two days, injuring at least 16 people.

Israeli settler attack injures 3 family members in occupied West Bank

An Israeli settler attack near the town of Taybeh has injured three Palestinians and led to the arrest of one, Wafa is reporting.

Illegal settlers launched an attack on the Bedouin community east of Taybeh, assaulting multiple members of the same family.

The family has been attacked several times recently, Wafa added.

Israeli military orders uprooting trees, seizing land in Jenin

The Israeli military has issued a series of new orders targeting land in several towns in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, including uprooting trees and seizing more land in the town of Marka.

Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that the Israeli military ordered the removal of trees and plants from lands with a total area of 310,868 dunams – nearly 311 square kilometers. The order would affect the towns of Ya’bad, Arrabeh, Anza, and Ajjah.

Wafa reported that the new orders appear to be part of the escalating Israeli measures targeting land in the Jenin governorate, threatening agricultural land and damaging farmers’ properties.

Israeli raid on Qalandiya injures over 50, at least 70 detained

Authorities in the occupied West Bank have given Al Jazeera an update on Israel’s large-scale military operation in Qalandiya, now in its second day.

The Jerusalem Governorate said that the army wounded at least 51 people so far during its operation, and detained at least 70 in the camp.

In addition, authorities said the army demolished at least seven homes in the camp.
