Israeli firms monopolize trade in Gaza, occupied West Bank

Israeli companies make millions of dollars from trade in Gaza and much of the occupied West Bank by monopolizing supply chains.

Palestinian companies recently petitioned the Israeli High Court to change the policies that make it possible, but their request was denied. It is part of a pattern that keeps firms invested in Israel’s occupation.

US Democrat Khanna says he feared for his life while detained in Palestine

US Democrat Ro Khanna says Israeli forces told him they sided with the settlers that had detained him and blocked the road he was traveling on.

The IDF denied detaining Khanna or blocking the road he was on.

“The IDF is lying,” Khanna told US news program Meet the Press.

“What had happened was unprecedented. They had violent settlers detain American citizens, including an American government official. You had these settlers brandishing M4s, kicking the tires of our van, laughing at us, mocking at us, videotaping us. We were detained for about 20 minutes, fearful for our lives.

“Then the IDF comes, four soldiers, they tell our translator that they’re on the side of the settlers. They further detain us and block us in.”
