On Sunday morning in Gaza City, an Israeli attack on an apartment killed three Palestinians – a father, a mother and their unborn baby. A footage shared online showed the infant’s body on the floor of the apartment.

Residents searching through the rubble after an Israeli strike in western Gaza City recovered the body of an unborn baby after the attack killed a pregnant woman, her husband, and their five-year-old son.

It’s very hard to even describe the scene: the mother was pregnant, and the force of the explosion pushed the baby from her womb.

Israeli army says it killed ‘commander’ in Gaza

The Israeli army says it killed Mahmoud Fatair, whom it identified as a commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, during an attack over the weekend in the Deir el-Balah area of central Gaza.

The army said, without providing evidence, that Fatair infiltrated Israel on October 7, 2023 and accused him of taking part in holding Israeli citizen, Rom Braslavski, captive.

Israel kills two Palestinians in attack on civilian car southwest of Gaza City

At least two people have been killed after an Israeli drone fired a missile at a civilian vehicle southwest of Gaza City, according to the Wafa news agency.

The missile hit the coastal road near the Martyr Khalil al-Wazir Mosque in the Sheikh Ajlin neighborhood, resulting in the death of two people and the injury of several others, who were transferred to al-Shifa Hospital, the agency reported.

Hamas says Israel’s attacks on Gaza aim to derail truce deal

The Palestinian group says Israel’s “deliberate escalation” of its attacks in the enclave seeks “to obstruct the understandings reached with mediators, including the US administration, to complete the implementation of the ceasefire agreement”.

It said that Israel’s “criminal and frenzied bombardment of the Gaza Strip” has wiped out “entire families from the civil registry” and called on mediators to “take immediate action to pressure” Israel to halt its crimes.

The statement on Sunday evening came as Israeli forces continued to bombard Gaza, killing at least 19 Palestinians, despite Trump’s announcement of a roadmap to implement the second phase of the peace deal.

The roadmap would include Hamas disarming and Israeli troops withdrawing from Gaza.

Netanyahu says Palestinians not allowed to leave Gaza, just like North Korea

Israeli PM Netanyahu has compared Gaza to North Korea, during a Hebrew-language podcast, saying its one of the few places in the world where residents cannot leave.

Israel had blockaded Gaza, by land and by sea, for nearly 15 years, before its genocidal war on the enclave started in October 2023. Israeli forces permitted a limited number of residents to leave and enter the strip.

But Netanyahu attributed this constraint to third-party countries refusing to accept Gaza migrants out of a stated reluctance to assist Israeli objectives.

“People simply aren’t allowed to leave Gaza. Countries say, ‘No, we won’t take them, because it would help Israel,’” Netanyahu said. “I ask: What about helping the Gazans? Why don’t they have the same basic right that billions of people around the world have, the freedom to move?”

Turkey says latest attacks on Gaza prove Israel does not want peace

Turkey's foreign ministry says Israel’s continuing deadly strikes on Gaza show that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has no intention of making peace with the Palestinians.

“Netanyahu’s sole objective is to displace Palestinians from their homeland and prevent the establishment of peace and stability in the region,” the ministry said in a statement.

It said Netanyahu continues to take steps that undermine the fragile regional balance and sabotage mediation efforts led by countries, particularly the US.

“It has become imperative for the international community to adopt a more determined, consistent and robust stance against Netanyahu’s expansionist and militarist approach, which seeks to turn the entire Middle East into a zone of conflict,” the statement added.

As we’ve been reporting, Israeli forces killed at least 19 Palestinians in Gaza on Sunday, despite the US announcing a plan described as a “monumental step” towards peace and security in the enclave.

Iran calls for ‘immediate and effective action’ against Israel over Palestine

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has called on the international community to take “immediate and effective action to end Israel’s impunity” regarding crimes against Palestinians, according to Iran’s Fars News Agency.

The statement was issued as Iran has been marking the anniversary of the death of the Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed on July 31, 2024, when a bomb planted in his Tehran guesthouse exploded.

Haniyeh had been leading negotiations with Israel less than a year into Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

In recent days, a US announcement of a disarmament plan with Hamas has only seen intensified Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Hamas wants mediators to compel Israel to implement a complete ceasefire: Source

A source in the Palestinian group says the movement has been in contact with the mediators regarding the Board of Peace deal and requested a clear stance on Israel’s latest escalation in Gaza.

Hamas has demanded that the mediators intervene directly to compel Israel to implement a complete ceasefire, the source was cited as saying.

“We have confirmed to the mediators that the continuation of the aggression obstructs the implementation of the agreement and negotiations on the timetable,” they added.

Gaza deal could collapse due to trust deficit

The only way to implement the second phase of the Gaza peace agreement, in the absence of truth between Hamas and Israel, is for the mediators to play an outsize role, according to Yossi Mekelberg, a senior consulting fellow of the Middle East and North Africa program at Chatham House.

Mekelberg told Al Jazeera that “because both sides will look at their political survival on what they are going to tell their constituencies after three years of bloody war”, it’ll be difficult to sell the second phase “if they come out with no achievement”.

“I think in such complex negotiations, you don’t expect them to trust each other, but they should trust the mediators. In other words, by the end of this process, Hamas hands over all the weapons to the Palestinian Authority or to the National Committee and Israel goes back to the green line. But if they start pushing it, it might lead to the collapse of the agreement,” he said.

Devil in details of Gaza ceasefire deal

Here is more analysis from senior consulting fellow of the Middle East and North Africa program at Chatham House, Yossi Mekelberg, who says that small, minute details agreed upon as part of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, might become huge roadblocks for implementing the deal.

“The devil is in the details and every detail that one sees or perceives that is not within their zone of acceptability, might lead to the collapse of the agreement,” Mekelberg told Al Jazeera.

“There was probably a mistake in the negotiation to put an emphasis only on the heavy weapons because it’s obvious from Israel’s point of view it’s actually the light weapons that they see right now, as more threatening for Israel,” he said.

“At the end of the day, whatever process is left, there should be only one Palestinian security force, under one body that governs the entire West Bank and Gaza.”

Arab League chief condemns Israeli attacks on Gaza as attempt to ‘sabotage’ ceasefire

The Arab League secretary-general has strongly condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza, which have targeted displaced Palestinians in their tents and killed dozens of people.

Nabil Fahmy said the Israeli bombardment of Gaza and the ongoing attacks in the occupied West Bank reflected “a clear Israeli attempt to sabotage the roadmap” announced two days ago to advance into the second stage of the ceasefire agreement and secure an Israeli withdrawal from the enclave.

“The secretary-general of the League stressed the need to hold Israel fully responsible for its violations against the Palestinians and its blatant attempts to thwart mediation efforts, emphasizing that Israel should not be allowed to achieve its goals of extending and expanding the occupation in Gaza in implementation of clear and exposed internal agendas adopted by the occupation leaders and their symbols,” his statement added.

Death toll in Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza reaches 73,375

The health ministry in Gaza says 19 Palestinians have been killed and 35 wounded in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

The ministry said the death toll included 18 newly reported deaths and one person who died of previously sustained wounds.

According to the ministry, since the “ceasefire” with Israel began on October 11, a total of 1,250 people have been killed and 4,110 others wounded.

The ministry said the cumulative toll since the start of the genocidal war on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,375 killed, with 174,220 wounded.

China reaffirms its support for an independent Palestinian state

Sun Zhen, head of the Chinese office in Palestine, has reiterated his country’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, according to the Wafa news agency.

At a news conference held at the Chinese Embassy in Ramallah, Sun also expressed China’s willingness to continue humanitarian and development assistance and to strengthen Sino-Palestinian relations to new levels.

The ambassador said that during his meetings with Palestinian leaders, he had witnessed the extent of the injustices inflicted upon the Palestinian people.

He reaffirmed that China would continue its efforts to deepen bilateral relations, as this year also marks the third anniversary of the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Palestine.

Israeli army launches two-day naval and ground drills

A military statement says the exercise will continue until Tuesday evening in the area between Shavei Tzion in the north and Ashdod in the south.

The drills will include intensive movements of ships and security forces, the army said, adding that the exercise had been planned in advance and was not linked to any security incident.

The army also announced another military drill in Raanana, in central Israel, on Monday evening, that it said would include the use of lighting equipment and the intensive movement of army forces and rescue vehicles.

The drills come as the Middle East region remains on edge after US President Donald Trump said that he had cancelled a planned military strike against Iran on Saturday after Tehran and other Middle Eastern countries requested time to finalise the framework of a peace deal.

Israel extends emergency army mobilization for further two months

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee has voted 4-2 to approve a government-requested extension of emergency military mobilization until September 30.

The vote allows the Israeli army to call up a maximum of 240,000 reservists.

Such extensions have been voted through every few months since the outbreak of the genocidal war on Gaza in 2023.

Patients continuing to die due to shortages in Gaza healthcare sector: Ministry

The Gaza Health Ministry says the deliberate deprivation of essential medicines continues in the Strip, resulting in a “silent catastrophe that is claiming the lives of patients”.

Cancer and hematology medications top the list of critically depleted drugs, with a 61 percent shortage, placing cancer patients at imminent risk of death as their treatment protocols are brought to a halt, a statement by the ministry said.

Overall, medicine shortages have reached 47 percent, while shortages of medical consumables have risen to 58 percent, the report said.

Laboratory testing supplies have recorded an 85 percent shortage, threatening the near-total disruption of vital diagnostic and therapeutic services, it added.

The report revealed severe shortages across other critical healthcare sectors, including:

• Maternal and child health medicines: 56 percent
• Primary healthcare medicines: 55 percent
• Kidney disease and dialysis medicines: 46 percent
• Mental health and neurology medicines: 35 percent
• Emergency and intensive care medicines: 33 percent
• Surgical supplies: 39 percent
• Orthopedic supplies: 47 percent

Board of Peace says Israeli forces will withdraw once Hamas finishes decommissioning

The so-called Board of Peace says Israeli forces will fully withdraw beyond the “Yellow Line” in eastern Gaza once Hamas has completed the weapons decommissioning process.

The announcement was reiterated following a meeting between Nickolay Mladenov, director-general of the board, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Board of Peace’s ultimate objective is to ensure the “complete decommissioning of weapons in the Strip and the transition away from rule by the gun to civilian governance”, according to a statement shared on social media.

The implementation of civilian rule “will be overseen by the International Stabilization Force and by the Implementation Verification Committee, on which both the United States and the Board of Peace sit”, continued the statement.

The Israeli armed belligerent and its political leadership have been saying for weeks that no troops will be withdrawn from Gaza, while they recently have been saying that Hamas must be disarmed first.

But Hamas in return have been saying that disarmament only will take place after the Israelis have withdrawn from Gaza.

The Board of Peace itself is to blame for a stalemate situation.

1. It is invented by those who have a agenda unrelated to peace.
2. It is led by Donald Trump who, like Joe Biden, keeps supplying munitions for the destruction of Gaza and the killing of its people.
3. The board has members included who were found involved in the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.
4. It is heavily under influence of Israeli demands.

The invented "International Stabilization Force" is doomed to fail, as it will meet an Israeli belligerent that will undermine its task the way it is undermining the framework it has agreed upon with Lebanon.

Israeli attacks on Gaza escalate despite Hamas’s acceptance of deal

Israeli forces have intensified their military operations in the Gaza Strip since the roadmap for a second stage of the Palestinian enclave’s “ceasefire” was announced last week.

United States President Donald Trump described Hamas’s acceptance of the Gaza deal as a monumental step towards security and stability.

In Gaza, the reality is very different, with at least 19 Palestinians killed on Saturday in Israeli attacks, raising the weekend death toll to 26, including women and children.

Despite Hamas agreeing to a phased disarmament, Israel’s government says it has “serious security concerns” about the plan and there’s strong resistance from Israeli politicians to the deal.

The continued bombardment of Gaza, contributing to Israel’s continued breaches of October’s “ceasefire” agreement, will likely threaten Trump’s peace plan and exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation for Palestinians in the enclave.

Qatar, Egypt and Turkiye condemn Israeli attacks on Gaza in joint statement

Qatar, Egypt and Turkiye have issued a joint statement, expressing their “strong condemnation and denunciation” of ongoing Israeli violations of last year’s ceasefire in Gaza, especially the attacks on healthcare facilities.

According to the statement, the three countries, who mediated the ceasefire, stressed the need for Israel to comply with its obligations under international law and uphold the terms of the agreement, as the violations undermine the “efforts aimed at implementing its second phase, particularly following Hamas and the Palestinian factions’ announcement of their acceptance of the roadmap”.

“They further warn that these violations threaten the path toward de-escalation and exacerbate the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip,” the statement read.

“The mediators renew their call for ensuring the full protection of civilians, medical facilities, and humanitarian personnel, and for guaranteeing the unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance and medical supplies throughout the Gaza Strip,” the statement said, adding a call to the international community to exert the “necessary pressure” on Israel to abide by international law and the ceasefire.

Turkish intelligence chief meets Hamas delegation in Istanbul

Ibrahim Kalin, the head of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MIT), has met a Hamas delegation led by its new political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya in the Turkish city of Istanbul, according to a statement released by the Palestinian group.

The Hamas delegation also included former political chief Khaled Meshaal, as well as Muhammad Darwish, Hamas’ Shura Council chief.

The meeting addressed the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, as well as Israel’s intensifying attacks in the the Palestinian enclave in recent days, according to Turkish state broadcaster TRT.

Happened in the occupied West Bank

• Two agricultural sheds were destroyed by an Israeli military bulldozer in the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus, according to the Wafa news agency, as parts of the village experienced power outages related to the bulldozed structures. Videos posted on social media also appear to show a water pipeline damaged during the raid.
• Four Palestinians were arrested in raids on the town of Bal’a.
  Another person was detained following raids in the villages of Tal and Madama.
• Israeli forces demolished a house and a farm in Kafr Malek, northeast of Ramallah.
• In Masafer Yatta, Israeli colonists reportedly attempted to steal sheep belonging to Palestinians.
• Israeli military raids were also reported in Aqqaba, near Tubas; Fawwar camp south of Hebron; Birzeit town north of Ramallah; and Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya.

Who are the Hilltop Youth?

The Israeli hard line colonist youth movement in the occupied West Bank is known for violence against Palestinians and its efforts to establish more illegal settlements.

The US and the EU have designated the group as a terrorist organization. It has been active since the 1990s and has approximately 800 members.

It is known for numerous violent attacks in the occupied West Bank, including the 2015 firebombing of a family home in the village of Duma, killing an 18-month-old baby, who was burned alive, and his parents, as well as the 2014 murder of 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir.

Some of the group’s members have been arrested and charged, but Israeli far-right leaders, such as National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, have publicly endorsed the group by chanting some of its provocative songs celebrating violence against Palestinians.

The line is incomplete, so we add:

".. to revenge the reported dead bodies of three Israeli colonist youth found in the last week of June 2014, and led to the Gaza War the following month."

Both incidents have their roots in April that year when Netanyahu all of a sudden announced that he will not release the 4th and last batch of Palestinian prisoners, which was agreed upon during the peace talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians, initiated by the then-president Barack Obama, and led by the then-secretary of state John Kerry.

Hilltop and international law

Every illegally transferred colonist, who is armed and participate in the military "occupation" by the armed belligerent, is considered a combatant by international law, as every Israeli "government" is a war belligerent since 1967. These participants loose their right of protection as civilian, and may be considered an objective by every Palestinian who decides to resist the de facto colonization.

What we've seen, in particular since March 2026, is the illegally transferred colonists are euphorically influenced by  the invasion and occupation of Southern Lebanon and the re-occupation of 70% of land in Gaza.

The hilltop gang has been designated as 'government' funded terrorist organization but by the United States and the European Union as terrorist organization.

Colonist violence is one key element in implementing Israel’s annexation of the West Bank

The Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian’s remarks in her press conference mean that colonist attacks are not just conducted by extreme right-wing people who are acting outside the law, trying to intimidate people.

Rather, they have become an instrument of the Israeli system that is acting in a way to dispossess people from their lands, to displace them and replace them with Israeli colonists.

She challenged the Israeli framing of the colonist violence, which Netanyahu has been talking about in international media, as just a few random isolated incidents, trying to label this as a failure of the security institutions to confront them.

When, indeed, the state has been arming these colonists and has been allowing and enabling them to continue their attacks with no accountability whatsoever.

This is a systematic, organisational and instrumental part of Israel’s occupation, aiming to get Palestinians out of their land one way or another.

colonist violence is one key element of implementing Israel’s annexation of the occupied West Bank.

While Israel has not declared this annexation on paper, on the ground, we see it happening day in and day out.

Every commute from one city to another, from one village to another, can be a deadly journey.

Israeli settlers ‘beat and pepper spray’ elderly man southeast of Bethlehem

An elderly man was injured after being attacked by settlers in the Abu Njeim area, southeast of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank, Wafa reports, citing security sources.

According to the sources, who spoke to a Wafa correspondent, the settlers attacked Yahya Aliyan while he was on his land in the Abu Njeim area, assaulted him by beating him severely, and sprayed him with pepper spray.

Aliyan suffered from suffocation, bruises and wounds in various parts of his body, but he received treatment on the spot, the agency said.

No arrests over the incident have been reported.

At the same time, the sources added that Israeli forces stormed the Solomon’s Pools tourist area, between the town of Al-Khader and the village of Artas, and were stationed around the second pool.

Israeli forces storm eastern area of Nablus

Israeli forces stormed the eastern area of Nablus city this evening amid heavy gunfire and tear gas, according to the Wafa news agency.

Israeli military vehicles, accompanied by a bulldozer, stormed the area to secure the entry of settlers into Joseph’s Tomb, the agency reported.

It quoted the director of the Red Crescent’s emergency and ambulance centre in Nablus, Amjad Ahmad, as saying that ambulance crews treated a 56-year-old woman who fell from a height during the incursion. She was transferred to hospital.

For Palestinians in occupied West Bank, justice ‘elusive’

Celeste Marcus, the executive editor of Liberties Journal and the cohost of Protective Presence USA, a podcast dedicated to protective presence activism in the occupied West Bank, explains that justice is “elusive” in the territory.

“Not only because there’s no way to appeal to a Palestinian authority, but also because the court system they can appeal to is an Israeli court system, and usually, when these human rights groups are appealing to the courts, what they’re appealing are destruction orders that are given by the Israeli government [for] towns or homes,” Marcus said.

The appeals take “many, many years” to go through the courts as Israeli attacks take place on a daily basis in the occupied West Bank, she explained.

“There’s not a lot we can hope for from the Israeli court system, both in [the] long term, but also, definitely [in the] short term,” Marcus added.
