Saudi Arabia welcomes draft Gaza peace deal

Saudi Arabia has welcomed the draft deal which aims to fully end Israel’s war on Gaza, calling it a “significant milestone”.

The kingdom emphasized the importance of Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, along with the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, the continued delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave and support for reconstruction.

The deal, it adds, should mark the beginning of a process leading to “the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent State”.

Israeli raids, attacks, arrests continue in occupied West Bank and Gaza

Colonist raids and attacks in the occupied West Bank, often under Israeli police protection, continued on Friday.

Israeli colonists attacked the village of al-Mughayyir, shooting a 10-year-old Palestinian child with live fire, according to Wafa news agency.

Israeli forces also assaulted a Palestinian man near the Awarta checkpoint, south of Nablus, Wafa said.

The director of the Palestine Red Crescent’s ambulance and emergency centre in Nablus, Amjad Ahmed, said crews treated an injured 22-year-old man who had been assaulted.

The Israeli military has been carrying out near-daily raids and arrests in Tel, near Nablus, where a colonist attack last weekend left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead.

In Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, meanwhile, an Israeli drone strike has killed at least one Palestinian, a source working in the enclave’s ambulance and emergency services has told Al Jazeera.

Earlier, an Israeli air strike on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza, killed one Palestinian, according to medics at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Israeli air attacks across Gaza have killed at least two people, hours after Hamas agreed to disarm as part of Gaza’s Board of Peace plan.

Medics say an Israeli air strike on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza killed one person, and that another person was killed by an Israeli drone attack on Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood.

Israeli strikes cause widespread destruction across Gaza

The Palestinian Information Center reports that an Israeli air strike targeting a structure west of Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza’s Deir el-Balah has caused widespread destruction, damaging nearby tents housing displaced Palestinians.

In southern Gaza, Israeli artillery shelling targeted eastern areas of Khan Younis, according to the report.

Meanwhile, in northern Gaza City, an Israeli air strike hit a residential home, leaving multiple people injured and causing extensive destruction in the area, it added.

Israeli, Hamas trust deficit greatest of ‘many hurdles’ facing Gaza deal

A lack of trust between Israel and Hamas may be the greatest of “many hurdles” facing the deal aimed at ending Israel’s war on Gaza, says Sina Azodi, director of the Middle East studies program at George Washington University.

“We have to keep in mind Israel’s domestic policy is very skeptical, and the society is very skeptical of any peace agreement with Hamas, certainly because of the October 7 attacks,” he said of the deal which includes provisions for Hamas to surrender its weapons in stages.

“It looks good on paper. It is clearly a good step for ending hostilities and bringing some sense of normalcy to the people of the region. But in practice, we have to wait and see how the deal is implemented because of so many hurdles, including, first and foremost, I would say, a lack of trust between Israelis and Hamas,” he added.

“Israelis clearly don’t trust the members of Hamas, and vice versa, and they’re all waiting for the other side to move first, so this is a clear issue. And second, if Hamas, which has identified itself for years as an armed resistance group, if it agrees to full disarmament, it will not be able to exist any more,” he said.

There is only lack of trust by Hamas, not Israel as the latter keeps continuing violating the ceasefire, and started to increase escalation after Hamas signed the disarming agreement, which is part of the road map to complete the implementation of Trump's Gaza plan, many misleadingly called "peace agreement."

Israel "not ready" to withdraw from Gaza

Thursday’s agreement stipulating that Hamas disarm and Israel withdraw from Gaza has gotten a frosty reception from Israeli politicians and the Israeli press.

The prospect of an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and steps towards the enclave’s reconstruction are unpalatable to many.

Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has denounced it as “unacceptable”.

Politicians regarded as centrists, like Gadi Eisenkot, former chief of staff and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leading rival in the coming election, are equally skeptical.

He said any deal that stopped short of Israel’s stated objectives in its genocidal war on Gaza – the destruction of Hamas’s military-political power – was a total failure.

Netanyahu has yet to comment, but US-Israeli pollster and consultant Dahlia Scheindlin suggested the stakes are high for the prime minister with an election only a few months away.

She says that Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza is out of the question.

Israel "not ready" to withdraw from Gaza

United States President Donald Trump has been triumphal since the announcement that Palestinian group Hamas had agreed to hand over its weaponry in Gaza.

But the terms of Thursday’s disarmament agreement also stipulate that Israel should withdraw from the Palestinian enclave, and gradually transfer power to a Palestinian administration – conditions that have been met with a frosty reception by Israeli politicians and in the Israeli press.

The Israeli government has yet to officially comment, but one unnamed senior Israeli official told reporters on Friday that, despite “various publications” reporting “diplomatic progress in the Gaza Strip”, there would be no withdrawal from Israel’s current positions within Gaza before what it determines to be “the genuine disarmament of Hamas”.

UAE welcomes Trump’s Gaza disarmament agreement

The United Arab Emirates has welcomed US President Donald Trump’s announcement that the Gaza Board of Peace reached an agreement to disarm Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza under his 20-point peace plan, calling it a major step towards ending the conflict.

In a statement issued by the United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry and carried by WAM news agency, the ministry said the deal “represents an important development towards ending the conflict, enhancing security and stability, and creating the necessary conditions to launch a political track leading to a sustainable peace”.

The ministry expressed hope that the agreement, which details a phased disarmament process, a concurrent withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the deployment of the International Stabilization Force alongside a new Palestinian police force, would “contribute to consolidating security and stability, ending civilian suffering, and creating the necessary environment for reconstruction”.

The UAE became the most closest ally of the Israelis after being the first to sign the Abraham Accords in December 2020, which was initially meant to isolate the Palestinians from the Arab world.

On June 10, 2025, the UAE was found involved in the Israeli campaign of creating chaos in Gaza, when videos were found on social media showing white Toyota pickup trucks with Emirati license plates in Rafah, Southern Gaza used by Yasser Abu Shabab-led Popular Forces.

There was the suspicion that the group was formed by recruitment in Egypt.

New roadmap pushes Israel to finally ‘give up land’ in Gaza: US ex-official

Mark Pfeifle, former US deputy national security adviser, has said the newly announced Gaza roadmap, calling for disarmament of Hamas and Israel’s withdrawal from the enclave, puts renewed pressure on Israel.

“Israel has been very good at talking about what the challenges, what the security problems are,” Pfeifle said. “What they’ve not been good at is talking about what are the actual solutions. How are you going to have a long-term situation in Gaza that can bring peace to the area?”

He said the roadmap would give Hamas a concrete time period to “decommission the tunnels and put together a weapons storage system”, after which “the Israelis have to give up that land.” The US could use diplomatic pressure or leverage military assistance to push Israel to meet its obligations, Pfeifle added.

“The Israelis do not have a lot of friends left internationally,” he said.

Netanyahu signaling he’s ‘not quite ready’ for new Gaza roadmap: US ex-official

Former US Deputy National Security Adviser Mark Pfeifle says Israel’s latest attacks in Gaza, following the announcement of a new roadmap for Hamas’s disarmament and Israel’s withdrawal, could be a troubling message from the Israeli leadership.

“I think what Benjamin Netanyahu is doing is sending a signal that he’s not quite ready yet to come to this framework,” Pfeifle told Al Jazeera. “He still has some issues with it.

“But I think what Trump and the Americans are trying to do is say let’s put together a framework, a roadmap – and that’s diplomatic speak for pressure on both sides to come to an agreement,” added Pfeifle.

However, Pfeifle cautioned that both Israel and Hamas could still “put a wrench into this mechanism”, causing it to potentially “fall apart”.

Trump announced Gaza roadmap to ‘turn political fortunes around’ before vote

President Donald Trump’s announcement of a new Gaza roadmap comes ahead of the US midterm election in November, which sees the president hovering around a 32-percent approval rate.

“I don’t think there’s any question that Donald Trump made this bombastic announcement to try to turn his political fortunes around,” analyst Mohamad Elmasry said.

“There’s no telling how much damage the Trump foreign policy agenda has done to Republican hopes in those upcoming elections,” the professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies said.

“As for Netanyahu, he’s really caught between a rock and a hard place now, because he has to, on the one hand, demonstrate continued loyalty to the US, on the other hand, his right-wing is very much opposed to any kind of an agreement that would require Israel to withdraw [from Gaza].”

Elmasry said Israel was increasingly looking for new allies in the Arab region, India and elsewhere. Netanyahu has also kicked off a high-stakes campaign before national elections on October 27.

Ongoing attacks erode confidence in ceasefire

The word “ceasefire” has become disconnected from the daily reality of the live of people in Gaza. The word is meant to mean halting all military activities, but that’s not what the people in Gaza are experiencing. It’s almost been the case for the last three years.

Last night, there were a series of attacks across Gaza on residential buildings and a medical supplies building needed for kidney patients.

According to medical sources, shortages and attacks on health facilities are limiting how doctors can treat patients.

People are seeking shelter. People are worried about the next few hours. People can’t plan ahead amid the ongoing attacks.

Every time when 'everyone' is talking about an agreement, all of this erodes any sense of confidence that it can succeed.

Israeli drone attack kills two in Gaza City

An Israeli drone attack has killed two people in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, according to the Wafa news agency, citing al-Shifa Hospital where the casualties were taken.

Others injured from the attack were also brought to the hospital, it reported.

The attack follows our reports of several earlier deadly air strikes in the enclave, including one that killed a person in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood and another that killed a second person on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza.

Israel kills 7 people in Gaza in 48 hours, 1 more succumbs to injuries: Ministry

Gaza’s Health Ministry says seven Palestinians have been killed and 76 injured in Israeli attacks across the enclave over the past 48 hours, while one more person succumbed to the injuries received in a previous Israeli attack.

According to the ministry, 1,222 Palestinians have been killed and 4,053 wounded since the so-called ceasefire took effect last year. It also said 804 bodies have been recovered from the rubble during that period.

The ministry said the overall death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,349, with 174,162 people wounded. It added that the death of one person in a building collapse brought the total number of fatalities from building collapses to 33.

This attack happened on a medical warehouse near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, jeopardizing the health and safety of many of the patients in need.

In recent months, Al-Aqsa Hospital has served as a major lifeline for many displaced people and residents of central Gaza.

While there is another hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp, it is much smaller than Al-Aqsa Hospital in terms of size and capacity.

Al-Aqsa Hospital is the only health facility with the capacity to accommodate a relatively large number of people and provide them with medical treatment, even though it, along with all health facilities across the Strip, operates under severe conditions.

Dialysis equipment among supplies destroyed in attack on Gaza medical warehouse

The medical warehouse hit earlier today in Deir el-Balah was filled with medical equipment and life-saving material, including equipment for dialysis and kidney patients.

It’s now all buried under the twisted metal and dirt left by the explosion, which caused a huge crater.

The explosion was so powerful that it also destroyed a nearby displacement site, sending many people searching for shelter.

Israeli attack caused panic in Gaza’s Deir el-Balah, say witnesses

Witnesses say the Israeli air attack on medical supply storage facilities near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah destroyed two of the warehouses along with vital medical supplies, while also causing dozens of nearby tents to catch fire, according to the Anadolu news agency.

The attack, occurring just minutes after Israel’s army issued a forced displacement order, caused fear and panic among patients, displaced people and residents in the vicinity of the hospital, the witnesses told Anadolu.

The agency quoted the hospital’s spokesperson, Khalil al-Daqran, as saying the attack “caused the loss of quantities of intravenous solutions, medicines, and supplies used in vital departments, including dialysis and intensive care”.

‘Heinous crime’: Gaza’s Health Ministry denounces Israeli attack on hospital’s warehouses

Gaza’s Health Ministry has condemned what it calls a “heinous crime” by Israeli forces in Deir el-Balah, saying the attack early this morning targeted “medicine warehouses” belonging to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, completely destroying two of them.

“The destructive force of the missiles used resulted in the complete destruction of two out of four warehouses at the targeted site, in addition to causing severe and extensive damage to two other warehouses,” said the ministry.

It said the attack also damaged the hospital’s outpatient clinic facility and caused the loss of “vital quantities of medical supplies and consumables”.

The ministry urged the international community, UN agencies, and rights groups “to intervene immediately and urgently to halt these attacks and provide immediate protection for medical institutions and personnel”.

Israel claims it destroyed five Hamas arms depots in Gaza

The Israeli army and its security agency Shin Bet have claimed they destroyed five Hamas weapon depots in the Gaza Strip overnight.

The army said one of the weapon depots was located adjacent to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah and alleged that these sites were used by Hamas to store assault rifles, explosive devices, anti-tank launchers and other military equipment.

The hospital and Gaza authorities said the targeted facilities stored the medical supplies of the hospital.

The first anti-Hamas claim that has been found and documented is the accusation that Hamas fired rockets, and that this was the cause of the Gaza War 2008-2009. However, CNN found evidence that Hamas didn't fire any rocket. The Israelis just broke the six-month ceasefire.

The first claim since October 2023, is those about the Al-Shifa Hospital in al-Rimal, Gaza City, claimed on October 27th being used as an command center. The hospital was found never been proven as a command center.

Gaza health ministry, doctors warn of catastrophic shortages amid attacks

Israel is continuing to attack Gaza’s hospitals and key warehouses storing available resources, despite a “ceasefire” agreement signed in October purportedly allowing humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.

Munir al-Bursh, director-general of Palestine’s Ministry of Health in Gaza, said that the Israeli military struck the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital compound on Friday, severely damaging the adjacent warehouse and destroying “supplies we desperately need”.

“We lost large quantities of medicine,” al-Bursh said. “When the occupation fights people by destroying medicines and preventing medicine from entering, it turns medicine and illness itself into a tool of war.”

Khalil al-Degran, spokesperson for the Al-Aqsa Hospital, located in Deir el-Balah, said the situation was “catastrophic”.

“We had expected that the crossings might be opened, that patients and the wounded would be evacuated, and that equipment, medicines, and medical supplies would be brought into the health sector,” he said.

“But unfortunately, the Israeli occupation is committing further crimes against the healthcare system.”

Israel sending ‘message’ in Gaza about being ‘in control’

There is reason to be skeptical about President Donald Trump’s announcement regarding a new Gaza roadmap, adding that Israel has previously undermined diplomatic efforts, according to analyst Mohamad Elmasry.

“I think we should be skeptical of this announcement that Trump has made because I don’t know that it’s realistic that the Israelis will withdraw from Gaza,” Elmasry, professor of media studies at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, told Al Jazeera.

He said Israel has “a long history of undercutting diplomatic efforts”, pointing to previous ceasefire negotiations involving Lebanon and Iran.

“Think back to Iran and Lebanon. When the US announced breakthroughs, the Israelis carried out massive attacks to undercut what the US had brokered, and it angered Trump,” he said.

Elmasry also said Israel’s continued use of large bombs in Gaza sends a political message.

“Throughout the war, Israel has been using these massive bombs. Under Biden in particular, the US continued to send 2,000-pound bombs for use in Gaza, right through the genocide accusations,” he said, adding: “The message they’re sending is they’re in control of this situation on the ground.”

Humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire

Almost all basic needs [in Gaza] are quite limited. There is a limited access to health facilities and health services, given the fact that many of the hospitals have been destroyed and are out of service.

Many are trying to get back on track and are trying to provide necessary medical care but they are challenged with the lack of medical supplies and equipment, forcing doctors to ration and prioritise cases.

When it comes to food and water, access to water is extremely difficult for many of the people.

In the displacement camps, every morning, we hear the screams and loud voices of people waiting for water trying to show up, which comes only twice a week. When water is available, it is very salty and not fit for human consumption.

The same applies to food supplies. You go to any street market, you will find the product and goods but not necessarily the products fit for children suffering from famine and starvation. They need other alternatives to survive these difficult conditions.

Displacement has been the biggest problem for people here, and it continues to increase the level of humanitarian crisis here.

Situation in Gaza remains dire despite the announcement of a draft peace deal

While political announcements may bring some hope, there is still some uncertainty in Gaza.

People are waiting for the announcements [on the draft peace deal] to transform into a sustained reduction in the violence and attacks that will bring security to their lives.

The situation on the ground remains dire. Just in the past 24 hours, the Israeli military targeted different sites and locations from Gaza City to central Gaza and destroyed a warehouse linked to the humanitarian response here in the Gaza Strip. The situation is going from bad to worse with the ongoing Israeli attacks.

People thought that these announcements would bring some sort of normalcy, but instead the attacks have been scaled up by the Israeli military.

What’s making this worse is that people are being pushed into a further cycle of displacement. Houses have been targeted, families have ended up in the street without anywhere to go to. They have been living for the past two years in the same cycle of displacement, lacking the basic necessities that they need to survive.

21 children among 152 Palestinians killed in Gaza in July: Ministry

Gaza’s Ministry of Health has said 152 people were reported killed last month, marking the highest number since the beginning of the year.

It added that 21 children, 14 women and four elderly were among the victims.

The Palestinian agency reported that a 16-year-old was arrested on Saturday morning after troops raided his family’s home in the town of Tammun, southeast of Tubas city. Four other Palestinians were arrested during predawn raids in the villages of Urif, Einabus and Burqa in the Nablus governorate.

Wafa also reported that Israeli forces arrested another 16-year-old during a raid on the village of Wadi Fukin, west of Bethlehem city, and one more Palestinian person at a military checkpoint northeast of the city.

Israeli colonists attack Palestinian couple in occupied West Bank

Israeli colonists have assaulted a Palestinian man and his wife while they were at their farm in the village of Beitillu, northwest of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, according to the Wafa news agency.

The news agency, citing local sources, reported that the couple suffered injuries and bruises after being attacked by a group of colonists in the al-Zarqa area of the village. They were taken to hospital for treatment.

Earlier, we reported that Israeli forces arrested at least seven Palestinians, including two 16-year-old children, during raids across the occupied West Bank.

Israeli colonists have attacked Palestinian homes in the town of Tal, southwest of Nablus, in the latest escalation of violence and tensions in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces also raided the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, local media have reported.

The incident comes a day after Israeli colonists escorted by soldiers stormed Tal and other areas southwest of Nablus, injuring 11 Palestinians, including four children.

Israeli forces also stormed several neighborhoods in the cities of el-Bireh and Ramallah, in the central West Bank. Locals reported that Israeli military vehicles entered Jerusalem Street, in the vicinity of al-Amari refugee camp, and the at-Tira neighborhood. No arrests or injuries were reported.

Israeli army, colonists attack Palestinians near Hebron

Israeli colonists under the protection of the army have attacked Palestinian residents in the town of Idhna, west of Hebron, local media reports.

The Wafa news agency said armed colonists from the Adron settlement stormed the town, pelting houses with stones, damaging vehicles, and preventing Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances from reaching the area.

The Quds News Network said Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters as Palestinians confronted the colonists.

Palestinian children among those detained in Israeli West Bank raids

Seven Palestinians, including two children, have been detained by Israeli forces in overnight and predawn raids across the West Bank, according to Palestinian local sources.

Israeli colonists separately assaulted a Palestinian man and his wife on their own farmland on Saturday.

The latest colonist attacks and raids by Israeli forces are a single day’s snapshot of activity now unfolding “in every direction” across the occupied West Bank, said Nour Odeh, reporting from Ramallah.

Odeh said Israeli military jeeps were roaming constantly through Ramallah on Saturday, as soldiers used tear gas inside a supermarket in the city. This level of everyday disruption, she said, has become difficult to separate from the settlement expansion driving it.

Colonists have erected another illegal outpost this week, Odeh added, the 12th such construction in the past seven days alone.
