Israeli drone targets house overnight in southern Lebanon
Lebanon’s National News Agency reports that an Israeli drone dropped a bomb overnight on a house in the town of Kafra in the Tyre district in the south, causing only material damage.

Israeli military bombing continues across southern Lebanon
Israeli forces have continued bombing and destruction operations across several villages and towns in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
NNA reported that Israeli forces carried out a large explosion in the Mashaa al-Mansouri area at about midnight local time alongside the dropping of explosive containers, while machinegun fire was also reported on the outskirts of Majdal Zoun and al-Mansouri and in surrounding valleys.
A series of large explosions was also reported in Beit Yahoun, Haddatha and Qounine, with the blasts heard as far away as coastal villages. Israeli warplanes and drones continued to fly overhead, the report added.
NNA said the explosions coincided with Israeli tank movements and advances towards Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district.

HRW urges UN to delay withdrawal of peacekeepers from southern Lebanon
Human Rights Watch has called on the UN Security Council to ensure an international force remains in southern Lebanon to protect civilians and deter abuses by the Israeli military and Hezbollah.
The UNSC decided in August 2025 to extend UNIFIL’s mandate for a final time until the end of 2026, when its phased withdrawal would begin. HRW said that decision preceded the latest escalation between Israel and Hezbollah and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians.
“Pulling the plug on UNIFIL without a robust international force in place would effectively abandon millions of Lebanese civilians to an uncertain and potentially disastrous fate,” said Louis Charbonneau, HRW’s UN director.
HRW called for UNIFIL’s mandate to be extended beyond December 31, 2026, until the security situation has improved sufficiently to consider reducing the force.

Israeli warplanes hit communal land in southern Lebanon
Israeli warplanes have targeted the communal land of al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon’s Tyre district, reports the country’s National News Agency.
The agency also reported Israeli military movement in the town of Haddatha, located in the Bint Jbeil district, accompanied by machine-gun fire toward the town, coinciding with the landing of an artillery shell there.

Lebanese PM stresses on ‘clear timetable’ for Israeli withdrawal
Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met with US officials to discuss the military aspect of the ongoing negotiating framework and the developments in the country’s south, according to the National News Agency.
The agency reported that Salam met US Ambassador to Lebanon, Michael Issa, and the head of the Special Military Coordination Group for Lebanon, General Joseph Clearfield.
During the meeting, the report said, Salam pressed for “the need for Israel to stop the destruction operations, expand the scope of the experimental areas, and set a clear timetable for the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.”
Israel continues to occupy swathes of land in the country’s south and has not stopped attacks despite agreeing to a ceasefire.

Israel bombs Tyre’s Al-Mansouri neighborhood
Israeli warplanes and drones have attacked in intervals, targeting the Al-Mashaa neighborhood and the agricultural outskirts area connected to the town of Al-Mansouri in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.
These attacks were coupled with other offensive operations in the town of Al-Mansouri, southeast of Tyre, reported the country’s National News Agency.

Fires have erupted in Bani Hayyan, a municipality in the Marjayoun District in southern Lebanon, due to the ongoing artillery shelling by Israeli forces, reported the country’s National News Agency.

Lebanese PM reviews reconstruction efforts in Nabatieh
Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has held a meeting with the local officials for the reconstruction in the city of Nabatieh, hit hard by the Israeli attacks in the last few weeks.
Nabatieh city is the administrative centre of both the governorate and the district of Nabatieh, and is the principal city of the Jabal Amil region.
The country’s National News Agency quoted Salam saying that “the revitalisation of Nabatieh constitutes a fundamental priority within the efforts to revitalize the South and ensure the return of its people to their towns and villages.”
The prime minister added that he discussed the most pressing needs and challenges Nabatieh still faces, particularly regarding infrastructure, facilities, and public services.

Drones reportedly flying over southern Lebanese city
Israeli drones flew at low altitude over the city of Tyre and surrounding towns, reports Lebanon’s National News Agency.
Israeli forces dropped explosive material over the Ali al-Taher forest on the outskirts of Upper Nabatieh earlier today, it added.
The Ali al-Taher area has seen renewed Israeli army operations for weeks, threatening the fragile ceasefire in Lebanon.

Hezbollah accuses Lebanon’s government of targeting ‘resistance’ instead of Israel’s occupation
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem said that “The Lebanese authorities are targeting the resistance instead of targeting the enemy and its failure to abide by agreements.”
Qassem continued, saying, “The southern town of Mansouri is supposed to be liberated … not occupied … yet residents can’t return … what have the Lebanese authorities done?”
Mansouri came under Israeli forced displacement orders and attacks last week on August 5.
Qassem accused Lebanon of “surrender” and said, “We won’t accept the violation of our sovereignty.”
Despite a US-brokered “ceasefire” between Lebanon and Israel in April, Israeli forces have continued to occupy southern Lebanon and blow up Lebanese homes and businesses.
On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Tel Aviv would not withdraw from Lebanon unless Hezbollah is disarmed.

Lebanon’s parliament speaker meets US military chief
Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon have been discussed by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and US General Joseph Clearfield, head of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L).
Berri said Israel has continued systematic violations and attacks against Lebanon and the south since November 2024, including the destruction of villages, farmland and forests, as well as damage to heritage sites.
Lebanon’s leading Shia politician and Hezbollah ally demanded that Israel end its war and withdraw to the international border.
Under a US-brokered ceasefire, Israel agreed to a gradual withdrawal from southern Lebanon and for Lebanon’s army to deploy.
